BOGGART The return of the Death Eaters. There are some that are loyal, but it's the full-out war that she's concerned about, knowing that her family could be involved. Josh certainly would since he's an auror, and she probably wouldn't be able to help herself from fighting as well.
MIRROR OF ERISED She feels like life couldn't get a lot better for her. But she wants the same for her kids, for them to find the person that makes them feel complete and for her and Josh to have a better relationship with the kids than she had with her own father.
PATRONUS The wolf. What bonds she has, with both friends and family, tend to be very strong because she does not get close to people as easily as others do. Her 'wolf pack'. She hates fighting, particularly when it is among those people, but she will also avoid it in her own life where she can. Her ability to learn new things and remember even little details is also common to the wolf. Wolves stick together, and they mate for life as well, matching Shalie's intense loyalty to her family.
PERSONALITY Shalie is much the same person that she ever was, being unapologetic about her interests. She is at the same time the dainty cook in the kitchen and the mechanic in the garage. Although she is still awkward at some moments she has gotten much better about it and genuinely likes to meet new people or catch up with the ones that she knew in school. She makes the most of the life that she has now because she knows how close she came to losing it. She still has the sometimes unfortunate need to help others if there's any possible way that she can. She thinks that not doing so is a bad way to live when there were so many people who lost their lives during the wizarding war. She finds it in herself to hate those who torture others and get enjoyment out of it. Other than that, she's rather good at seeing the good in others.
Motherhood is just about right for Shalie. She always mothered people in school, taking care of them and giving them lectures when they needed it. Now that she is a real mother, she cares for each of her children and sees them for the individuals that they are. You can't raise three very different personalities all the same way! She wants to be there for her kids in a way that she felt her father wasn't there for her most of her life. And since she knew both the muggle and wizarding worlds, she makes sure that the kids know as much as they can about both. She has never lied about anything important with them, either. She wants them to have a trust that a lot of families lack. Of course, she is also that mother that makes you feel like crap when you do something wrong because she would be more sad than angry about it. And she would forgive just about anything. She extends that motherly attitude to her various nieces and nephews as well.
She has no doubts about her marriage to Josh. She is faithful and doesn't even think about other people. Why would she? She had never thought about being with someone before she was with him, and she's perfectly happy where she is. She also likes just being a wife. There are the hard times that bring the family closer together, the good times that remind her of how worth it everything was... She hasn't lost any of the passion that he found in her. When she's alone with Josh, her old rather silly personality shows itself more. And she can be mercilessly mushy when it comes to him. For the family in general, she just doesn't like to dwell on the bad.

HISTORY See HERE for early history.
Shalie was in her sixth year when she finally got into her first actual relationship, with fellow Ravenclaw and longtime friend Josh Jimenez. Deciding to be with him seemed to help Shalie understand more about herself. That was good, and that was bad at the same time. Now that she had decided to go against her father's will and not marry someone that he chose for her, she didn't want to lose Josh and the possibility of a life spent together. She'd always been brave in her way but she joined the Order in the summer after her sixth year and decided not to return to school. Instead, she would offer support and healing potions to her new allies. She should probably have stopped it at that, but she kept getting more involved. Exchanging news with Hogwarts Student and Order Mole Xander, and later even getting involved in battles. Through all of this there was tension between her and Josh at times because neither wanted to lose the other, and he had gone on to be an auror.
The final battle was of course horrifying. Shalie acted as a makeshift doctor, but there were more people falling as she tried to help someone else. She also had to fight off enemies as she tried to heal others... Her gentle heart was a weakness because she tried to help people of both sides, and some of the people that she saved ended up avoiding imprisonment. That's one thing that she won't really talk about, the final battle. Too many people she knew died, and more people who should have been imprisoned have walked free, with their sons and daughters attending school with hers.
Long story short, some time after the war Shalie got married and had the three children. She was the sort of mother that was always proud of them for the little things and probably let them get away with too much. She was also the sort that felt a bit empty once they were off at school. But at least she still had Josh there with her! She also pursued her favorite subject from school and began to make potions. She was a natural at it, and she didn't just make the potions that there were recipes for. She created some of her own potions, and she was able to make a bit of money off of them. Of course, she also ended up giving them to people who needed them but couldn't afford the cost. It didn't hurt them too much though. Whatever Shalie lost, she had money coming in from the muggle world as well from her father's company, in which she was sort of a consultant. Shalie still stays in contact with her father, who has come to accept the wizarding world after meeting some of the people who helped save it. Having grandkids has made Matsuoka a much more stable person, too – he doesn't drink anymore, even at his company parties. Though he does still rather like to give Josh Sr. trouble.
As a side-note, I kind of think that Shalie would have taught her kids at least a little bit of Japanese.

RP EXPERIENCE? So long, you just you don't know. Yeah.
RP SAMPLE. Knowing that Josh wanted to have a future with her made Shalie feel less afraid of considering the future at all. Most of the time when she did she was concerned with how things were going to be in the wizarding world, and the possibility of being with someone that she didn't love. Imagining a life with Josh, though, made everything else seem less scary. “We'll have a future together... I know that without a doubt now. Even if it's something that we need to fight for, we'll be together. Though you had better propose to me before I'm thirty... My father would hate for me to be with someone that I wasn't married to for that long... Or at least planning on marrying.” She laughed softly. It was kind of like they would always have to fight. To have a future at all with Voldemort around, to be together despite her father's wishes, who knew what else? But still she felt lucky. She saw so many people get together and break up only to find new partners like it was all so easy, all so worthless. The idea of them ever going their own way was almost heart-breaking to her. She didn't think that would happen, though. Because they didn't go through half their year before finding each other. He had kissed someone before he was with her, that was true, but he was still almost as inexperienced as she was. They were going to discover all the things that many of their classmates had already but they were going to do it together. She looked embarrassed when he brought up the 'thanking' but she laughed anyway, remembering that they had started in on kissing because she had thanked him for putting up with her with a kiss on the cheek. Things had progressed so much that day, like it was everything that should have happened over the years released at once. “I think that you should be the one thanking me, actually, if I'm going to be the one cooking... You can start by taking out the trash.” She was kidding, of course. She wouldn't ask him to do that at her place! Though it did seem to be something that a married couple would use, even more than sex. Though she wasn't against that idea, either. When the summer first began Shalie already had the idea in her head that this was going to be it, that she wasn't going to back down like she did when they were in the common room. It scared her... But she liked the kind of fear that it brought. It wasn't bad at all. Suddenly her expression softened. “I hope that we both feel this way forever.” To demonstrate what 'this way' was, she leaned in and lightly brushed her lips against his, not letting it turn into a full kiss. The teasing of it somehow added to the thrill, maybe because it begged a finish that she didn't give. It was like that with other things, too, she knew. But that would make it better when the time did come... And she was thinking with her father gone, that would be sooner rather than later.
“I'm scared too. I don't want to die... Not when I have you. Not when I've found my reason for living. Before it was just... that I wanted to fight for other people when they needed it, not because I was doing it for myself. It doesn't feel like that now. I'll be in danger for a while, but in the end it will make everything easier for us.” She wanted to do what she could to make sure that the right side won. She bit her lip in thought when he said that she would eventually end up helping someone in a fight rather than just healing. And she couldn't deny it because it was true. If someone needed her, she couldn't say no, not knowing that she would regret not doing it her entire life if things went wrong. “Yes, but... Even if I were at school I would be doing anything that I can to help. And I don't think that things will be the same there this year without Dumbledore. I don't know that I would be safer. At least if I am with the Order I have other people who will know where I am and who will fight beside me.” She was speaking quietly now, as if that would be more likely to get a positive or at least less explosive reaction from Josh. She understood his anger because it was the same that she felt for the decision that he'd made, but it wasn't going to help either of them get anywhere. She wasn't sure if it hurt her more to have made Josh sad or to have him speak as though he could defend himself but that she couldn't. “No matter what, we are both going to come home. We're going to come back from the war proud of ourselves and proud of each other... With stories to tell to our children.” She smiled at him to show that really she wanted the fighting to end, she just wanted to go back to being a couple that was more stable than most of the ones that she knew in school. Such issues that caused such strong emotions weren't easily forgotten... Well, and there was the fact that one shouldn't start in talking about kids when they hadn't really talked about it. It was a joke, or it was a comment, it just depended on how he took it.
Shalie moved closer to Josh there on the couch, then straddled him in a way that would have been awkward if she wasn't so focused on what he'd just said. Because she was, there was a passion in her eyes that rendered whatever movements she did somehow less silly. It was like all of the sadness, the helplessness, and the good emotions like love, too, were being turned into something else. She wanted to feel close to him, because she knew that one day she might lose him, or that he might lose her. These moments when they were together were irreplaceable. They might end up fighting again, and ruining it for them both. She knew that if there was anything that would close the argument and give them a perfect moment, it would be this. It was a closeness right now with her sitting on him that was more constant than a hug or a kiss.... She found that she liked that, and liked where it could lead, too. She was careful not to shift too much, though, in case it made him uncomfortable. She rested her hands on his shoulders, then leaned in to return the kiss, her face so warm that she felt the tears that were still threatening might evaporate before they could fall. It was funny that she could fight with him the way that she had, laugh with him other times, but love him all the same. “I'll never get tired of hearing that...B-But I... want you to show me.” She looked bravely into his eyes when she said it.
