PATRONUS Salvadorii lizard because of it's rarity, powerful bite, double breathing, and athletic ability making it an unusual and valuable creature.
ANIMAGUS Having mastered it early, Scorp surprised many by not being a snake or a scorpion (something he found very ignorant of most) and instead did end up becoming his patronus, a Salvadorii lizard. Being able to breath under water as well as air has increased his love of swimming and caused him to take up running as well for his physical condition.
PERSONALITY
Like his father, Scorpius has a drive to prove himself which has led to him gaining much of the power his father had by his age. While no Potion skill beyond the normal, he has picked up on non-verbal skills before most of his class and his dueling skill is very high. With Draco's home teaching he has also gotten some very high transfiguration skills, but this is where the comparison drops off. Almost as if resisting, Scorp has avoided brooms and Quidditch (though he can fly if he has to) and anything to do with the mental arts (something his father is secretly glad for). While he has no problem learning darker spells and their counters, he isn't trying to gain dark magic so much as understand and know better how to defend himself against it. He secretly fears having to use that skill alot someday and because of that he has learned the one lesson his father might have hoped he didn't; he knows you have to mean what you do.
That gives him a punch behind his spells which catches many off guard as he only casts when he wants to do something to stop the other completely. He has not learned the unforgivables, but the others he hits hard with.
Wanting to be himself, not his family, he has also moved away from the discussion of politics in school and anything marking him as leaning towards the darker side of things he avoids. This does not mean he is trying to be likable nor good, just that he avoids the reputation of such things people look at him for finding his father in him. He can still be dark, sullen, and moody when things do not go well, he just hides them best as he can. And while he has on and off dated, he has not let any relationships get too close for fear of revealing too much of himself. This is something he thinks is a weakness women bring out in most guys and he guards his heart against such knowledge. This has kept him more of a casual dater, seemingly picky about the girls he lets get too close.
In most of his classes he does very well with the more complex magics (a family trait it appears) and while he doesn't try to show off, his performances in front of his yearmates in class is enough to let rumors fly. Gruffly kind, Scorp seems to be begrudging others their more carefree backgrounds and instead comes across as a "go-on-&-get-out-of-the-way" sort; he is no defender of the weak-willed and hopeless he just wants them out of his way. He can often be found not in the Library so much as the restricted section (which he has earned with his study of counters and curse-blockers) and his teachers seem rather proud of his advanced skills. Scorp sees this as necessary for his own survival though there have only been semi-veiled threats from certain descendants so far. Knowledge plus his dueling skills being known have defended him more so far then the actual defenses.
He can rarely be found in the dorm. Walls feel to much like the cages he has been raised to expect in his life...

Scorpius is a fourth cousin, once removed, of his classmates Rose Weasley and Albus Potter, and their siblings, Hugo Weasley, James Sirius Potter, and Lily Luna Potter, as all of them are descendants of Phineas Nigellus Black. Scorpius is the second cousin of Teddy Lupin.
HISTORY
Born to be the heir of the family, Scorp was raised with every advantage money and a pair of doting parents could bring. His father gave him tons of lessons at home as did his mother, both sort of trying to negate the bad position they were often seen in by others. When his sister was born he felt very protective of her even when still in the single digits. The family traveled often due to his father always looking for new advantages for his business interests (he stopped working for the Ministry last year; the businesses were a long term family investment) so both Scorp and Maia have gotten to experience different cultures and places. As he grew up, he began to get tired of being the focus and was glad to leave it to Maia when he finally went to school.
He grew up a serious lad who tried to build himself up physically early on before school and thus actually had a little muscle in his first year at Hogwarts. There was the first place he learned the precarious position his family name had. Disliked and not trusted by the descendants of both sides, he protected himself with his strength at first, but as his magic talents grew he began leaning towards them more. By his third year he already had a fierce reputation as a dueler able to defend himself well and able to take out his opponents with rather tricky spells combinations few were prepared to deal with. He practiced avidly, working towards counters and curse breaking early on in his years, encouraged by his teachers who knew budding talent when they saw it.
As a budding youth he knew he was watched (maybe more avidly by the girls) and he took a page out of his father's book without realizing it in guarding his heart. He does not know his father has already promised his mother never to contract him, but he supposes it will happen one day since he makes no close connections with any girl in particular. He does plan after graduating to move out of his parents home to somewhere well hidden, possibly dependable on purpose. He realizes that having a place to relax is important and he wants a haven of his own that no Deatheater has ever been in. Beyond that, he waits to see what job opportunities he might gain. The future is an open book and he stands ready to grab opportunity when it visits...

He watched the porter loading the cart up for the inside while his family went on inside. The bodyguard father had hired for the trip through muggle lands was a hit-witch from the Ministry on her off days. She had so far ignored his suggested comments for how she could be absolutely sure where he was, but he saw her neck was flushed which made him smile inwardly. He had been half-kidding, but it was amusing to yank her chain. In any case, once they got all settled into the hotel, he'd see how much freedom he had in movement. Hopefully father had arranged a suite of rooms and not just two bedrooms; he loved his little sis, but sharing a room with her was no fun. Scorp watched only half paying attention as he contemplated what might be possible in the Eternal City.
Hearing his father's voice inside he was sure the room was ready, but his father was making some last minute change. A smile showed in his eyes and he was glad for a moment to be out of sight. If he only dared walk off right now, but he'd only cause a freak out from his parents who wanted him near and safe. A roll of his eyes and he followed the porter inside, in time to have his mother catch his arm saying "Stay up there with your father, Scorpius," as he began to head for the stairs with his reply "Yes mother, I promise I won't lose him..." sarcastically. A glance over his shoulder showed her pushing Maia to follow, the guard behind them all. Even on vacation he felt shielded, kept in a cage without bars. Surely he was safe here?
Upstairs hie father opened a door with a key which led into a handsome suite which all four didn't react to visibly being well used to such luxury. The porter began unloading the bags as Scorp walked over and opened the door onto the balcony. "Over here, my boy, take this room. Go ahead and put your things away..." Maia flashed him a glance of irritation and he shrugged; it wasn't as if he tried to be focused on. "Yes father, I just wanted some air." Seeing he was being dumped in the bedroom farthest from the door he rolled his eyes, said something under his breath about cages, and hauled his suitcase off to the aforementioned room. Maia, placed in the room next to his got her parent's attention while he made his escape.
He had no problem with this. Closing the door behind him he went straight to the window and opened it despite the dirty air of Rome. It felt like a pressure release and he sorely needed it...
