HAIR&EYES

Daly’s mother has extremely curly ebony hair that cannot be straightened even with wizard level hair products that generally force even the curliest of hair to behave. This passed down to Daly as he has deep ebony hair that curls around his ears and almost never can be straightened. The closest the man ever gets or has gotten is having it slicked back at the top and even then this is ruined within an hour by little curls popping up. His eyes however do not come from his mothers crystal blue eyes but his father’s chocolate brown ones which are almost the same color of his hair, however although so dark it is still as if they can see right down to the soul.

- Just like for many in his predicament, but not all, he finds his biggest fear to be killed for what he is. If he is going to be killed he feels that it should be over something gallant, or knightly but not something through cowardice.

PERSONALITY

Daly is one of those types of people that the bullies like to mess with because he’s kind of submissive in many of his actions. He is very quiet and reserved when he wishes to be because he likes to study his situation before jumping into it. If he feels that you are not worth the fight or conversation he’ll just sit there and nod until you go away. However if you perk his interest he is certainly the type who is going to make sure that he can talk to you again in the future for further intelligent conversations. He’ll happily indulge someone who just wishes to talk about school, the weather, or well… anything if you have a good dialogue that comes with it.

He often finds himself making friends with even the most delicate of people because he knows how to chameleon his personality to those he is with. If you are a particularly evil and snide person he knows just how to counter, just like if you are overly sweet and have a shy disposition he’ll understand how to make you feel better around him. He was easily known as the sweetheart of his year because he always found himself making everyone feel better over himself. As long as someone didn’t outright cause him problems for being a half vampire he was okay with them. Though he never was one to cause fights physically, verbally was another thing, because he could do that just like any other Ravenclaw.

It is always best to leave him to his studies when he is doing however because that seems to be the one time that he happens to get grouchy.

HISTORY

It was never a completely sane life for Daly at home because of his unconventional upbringing as a half vampire, half wizard. His mother had of course expected to have a child that was at least a little vampiric but did not expect to have a fully half vampire son because well… it was different. However she learned quickly from Lir how to keep Daly healthy, and protected without having too much of a strain. It was easier to get blood because of where she worked but she just signed up with Daly through the ministry because it was easier to feed him with a bottle like that then allow him to suckle on anything else. Of course however for the first little while she mixed in her own blood with special formula to keep him agreeable.

Daly however was never a truly finicky child with what his parents gave him to eat because he knew that he was getting it no matter what. His mother truly saw him as her pride and joy, as did his father though he had many children before Daly. These children however had become monsters, and or had become deceased from some stupid happening or another. Lir had hoped to start anew with Siofra and they did… creating a sweet but small family together that stuck by each other through thick and thin.

As Daly grew he grew faster than most because of his genes which caused him to look older than he was. By the time his sister Reagan was born he looked more like a seven year old than a five year old which was kind of okay with him. He got to do things that he wouldn’t have been able to do if he had been normal height for most of it like ride his first broom which he did okay at. However he wasn’t truly as interested in those things as learning to read more, and learning more about the plants his mother used in her salves.

This is what began the boys obsessed with herbology and the earth which is what he excelled at when he arrived at Hogwarts at age eleven. His sister was more into girly things than him which he was okay with indulging even at a younger age by allowing her to put makeup and dressed on him when she wished. He was quite the pushover for his baby sister who saw him as a like hero whenever they saw each other. Of course he was upset when she was not able to go to school with him like his owl was but he knew he’d see her eventually.

When he got to school people often looked at him weird as if trying to figure out what was wrong with him but after a while most of his friends found him intriguing. Some people didn’t mind when he told them his secret, and some did… those were the bullies who often pushed him around but Daly didn’t really mind. He just let them do what they wished then he’d just go about his business as if they were below him. Daly wasn’t a pushover per say because he did get his revenge but when it happened he stayed quiet. He knew the spells to make their hair change colors and cause pimples pop on their arses so that’s what he did when they targeted him.

However the boy spent most of his time with the herbology club, with his friends instead of out and about with everyone else. He enjoyed learning the things he did with the herbology professor of the time and eventually got an O.W.L. in it as well as a N.E.W.T. which allowed him to at the time become a worker at an apothecary which he did for a few years. That is until the opening for the Herbology Professor happened at Hogwarts and he got a letter which forced him to inquire… then, as if almost immediately answering his letter he was on his way to Hogwarts to teach the current Herbology and Earth Magic classes.
