HAIR&EYES Jacob has brown hair that has different colors mixed in as highlights, but this is all natural.  His eyes are normally a blue grey color, but in the right lighting they appear a green hue.

PERSONALITY Jacob is a bit of an enigma.  To his students, he comes across as a fairly lax person, though he can be strict when necessary.  He enjoys teaching and is passionate about it, but he will be serious about his passions for the most part.  Always willing to help a student in need, Jacob sets aside hours of his night where students are free to come and go with questions, concerns, or if they just want to talk.  He is a bit of a dry sense of humor type of person, and when teasing someone will seem completely serious, so some people might misunderstand him.

However, there is a deeper person.  He battles with feelings that his family says he shouldn't have.  He feels attracted to men, but has never allowed himself to admit it, even to himself.  He struggles with it often, though he does not allow it to bother her often.  He is afraid to let himself feel those feelings, because his parents hate the idea of homosexuality.  He has dated a few women, but never felt attached to them, despite trying very hard to feel the way his parents tell him to feel.

This hiding of who he is has led him to have a hardened shell, one that makes it hard for him to get close to other people.

He is often oblivious to other people's flirtations or such, and would take a while to realize if someone was hitting on him.  He also struggles to understand a person's intentions, tending to be a bit naive and assume that everyone has good intentions.

HISTORY Jacob was the youngest of three children, a bit of an accident honestly.  His parents were pleased, but they had taken a while to realize that it was okay to have that third child.  Their ideal family would have just had one boy and one girl. This didn't mean that he wasn't loved.  In fact, his parents doted upon him.

He was a smart student, and was sorted in to Ravenclaw quickly, managing to make it through schooling with high marks. However, he found his calling to be in music, and studied this until he became Music professor at Hogwarts.  He's only worked there for a year so far, but he loves every moment of it.  During his last years as a student and during his studies, Jacob started to struggle with the idea that he might be attracted to males.  However, his parents' strict views on homosexuality, and his older brother's cruel attitude, he suppressed these feelings.
