PERSONALITY Dante is quite the fun-loving guy, but he never takes anything too far. He is careful to always keep a line between his professional life and his personal life, and he keeps himself in check and serious when necessary. He might come across as a little bit cocky to some people and he is not oblivious to the fact that he possesses good looks. He also enjoys flirting with women, especially those who would make it hard for him to actually get the affection returned. He sees it as a challenge, and enjoys the hard work it takes.
As a professor, he is a good mix of fun and hard work. He will discipline students if necessary, though he tends to get the respect from his students either way. His classes are a mix of serious, important to know potions, and silly, fun potions. He makes sure to have this mix so that students will see how fun potions could really be. This is important to him, because he wants to be a professor that everyone likes instead of one that everyone hates.

HISTORY Dante grew up in an Italian family, though it was not quite the stereotypical large family. After having Adriana, Dante's little sister, Violetta Pellegrino was told she was unable to have more children. This was quite the blow to the small family, as the parents had always wanted to be surrounded by a large hoard of children. Dante was not really aware of this, of course, but his parents doted upon him and his little sister. He wasn't exactly spoiled, but he was encouraged to follow his dreams, no matter how "silly" they were.
When Dante was twenty years old, his father had an accident. Despite being a wizard, the thing that ended up killing him was an automobile crash. It was too late to help him once the healers got to him. Dante, Adriana, and Violetta were devastated. Already having been training to be a potioneer, Dante started to work towards being the potions professor at Hogwarts. After ten years of study and hard work, he was accepted as the professor at the school.
He regularly sends money to his mother, to help her while he is away teaching at school. Even though he isn't around her all of the time, she is very important to him, and he does all he can to help. His sister, Adriana, works in Verona as an herbologist, but regularly spends time with their mother to help her out.
