NICKNAMES. Goes primarily by Jaime, feeling like Bobby is too femmy and Robert too... adult-sounding. He absolutely hates being called James or 'Jay'. Jaime is somewhat juvenile in a way, but he's been called that too long to care.

LIKES
[1] Being admired. Especially the way that he knows his brother looks up to him.
[2] Quidditch. Flying class was one of the things that he was really good at.
[3] Cuddling. Kind of surprising for someone who goes through girls like socks, but it's true!
[4] Alcohol. It helps him to forget things that he should probably remember as lessons.
[5] The Forbidden Forest. Forbidden, yes, but he finds his way in anyhow. He likes the danger.
[6] Junk foods. Not candy, but things like bacon and chips (American and English, I guess)
[7] Playing Leader. He's actually pretty good at it, depending on what it is.
[8] Big Butts. And he cannot lie. But seriously, he's a butt guy.
[9] Dogs. Big dogs are the best, loyal and intimidating.
[10] Fixing Things. He used to fix things with his dad, cars and appliances, and it stuck.
DISLIKES
[1] Reading, for reasons listed below.
[2] His father. He might love him deep down, but they have always butted heads.
[3] Cigarettes. He's got enough addictions and bad habits already.
[4] No technology in Hogwarts. He uses a phone too much over the summer.
[5] Team Sports. He doesn't work well with others, and doesn't like competing much.
[6] Snobs. Think you're better just because you don't put out?
[7] Being Alone. That's when the weird thoughts come...
[8] Group Work. Same as 5, it's worse in school because his learning issues show more.
[9] Relationships. He's just... not cut out for them.
[10] Change. He wants things to stay the same, because he doesn't adapt that easily.
BOGGART Losing his brother, whether it's that he just up and decides not to stick around anymore or through death.
MIRROR OF ERISED To move to America, or somewhere else he's far from his parents.
PATRONUS Lots of people leave this blank, and I will too for now. <.<
PERSONALITY Ever since his parents got their divorce he's been a trouble-maker. He doesn't do that well in most of his classes (he actually is dyslexic though this has never been diagnosed) and he was long ago too discouraged to give it his best. He also has stress problems. Everyone assumes that he doesn't care about anything, but actually, he just does everything he can to bury his fears and emotion. These two things combined mean that he was incredible stress during the testing at the end of the year. He actually got physically ill in his fifth year during the O.W.L.s. Naturally because of his past behavior, most people thought that he was faking it to try to get out of the testing.
He compensates a lot for his learning troubles. That's why he always has to be the one with a witty comeback. And he is a bit of a bully. He feels better in the short-term for making someone else feel worse than he does, though he does get guilty feelings that (you guessed it) he buries deep down. He possesses the renowned Gryfifndor stubbornness, bravery (recklessness in his case), and unswaying confidence.
For all his flaws, he does have his good traits. When it comes to his brother, there is a definite 'it's only okay when I pick on him' thing going on. He thinks of him as a friend and partner-in-crime as well as a brother. And when people mess with him, they get to have Jaime as an enemy! He acts first and thinks later most of the time which lands him into trouble often. Thankfully he doesn't get angry that often. Only really when it's his parents (and their tendency to date around since the divorce) or people who have messed with his brother or some girl that he's liking at the moment. Other people insulting him usually makes him laugh instead of getting him pissed off. He's heard it all, and it really doesn't bother him that much. It would if it came from someone whose opinion of him really mattered but there aren't many like that. He can be a very silly person with his friends.
He has a rather complicated situation romantically that has him just frustrated enough to mess things up even worse for himself. For one thing, he is extremely homophobic, yet thinks he might be somewhat attracted to guys. He is confused about that, because he doesn't know if he's scared of being interested in guys because he is into dudes, or if it's the other way around... That he is so scared of being interested in guys that he's getting paranoid about it and he's actually straight. Either way, he's noticed them a lot more with time. That just drives him to seduce more women, have more stories spread about him.
But that's not to say that he doesn't like being with girls. Although he does lie about things sometimes, he is far from being a virgin and he thinks that there is nothing better for a guy than a good lay. Actual relationships are hard for him... The truth of it is, he's scared to get serious. He already knows that when he's upset about something he finds a quick distraction, whether it's another lady or alcohol. In his weird way, he's protecting the girls that he likes by not getting serious with them, even though deep deep down that's what he wants. A relationship where he can make himself be committed, and not have to lie about things. So far he hasn't found someone that he can do that with.

Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right, and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort.

HISTORY He was a pretty sweet little kid, the sort that would help his dad fix things and would pick flowers (or more likely, weeds) for his mother. He also had a clingy personality that formed because his parents fought a lot when he was little, and he was afraid of them forgetting about him in their focus on hurting each other or just leaving him behind. When it came to his little brother, he picked on him and took care of him in turns, the way that brothers often are. Still, since he was distressed often he didn't have a lot of friends outside of his family. Sean became his best friend, which even later in life, he reflected on as being just pathetic.
When he was twelve his fears came true and his parents were getting a divorce. He refused to choose who to go with, and so the courts did that for him. He and Sean both were sent to live with their mother over the summers and sent to be with their father over the winter break. The divorce and the negativity that came around because of it made Jaime act out more at school. He didn't want people to see him upset, so he never let them. The whole sleeping around thing thankfully didn't happen until he was in his fifth year. It has never been and will never be the main focus in his life, but it is definitely something that defines him in his group of friends. The first girl that he ever slept with still holds a fond place in his memories because that had been a side-effect of his pursuing a relationship... And failing in the attempt...
These days, he barely gets passing grades in class and otherwise parties his time away. He resents his father because of the closeness that they once had, and even as old as he is likes to mess things up for his mother when she dates new people. The whole sexual confusion thing is pretty new to him, and frankly, it has him rather horrified. He'd never let his brother know about that, because the risk of losing him seems too great after he already lost his parents.

RP SAMPLE.
Ainsley dodged the snow like a well-practiced ninja. He did a lot of things that pissed girls off, so snow was actually a more welcome projectile to avoid. “Everyone in our house will just have to deal with it, huh? Besides, purple kind of seems like your color. Ha, we'll have Magneto colors,” he said with a smile on his face. He wondered if she would get the reference. As always, it was dorky humor, and it was hit or miss. Even those who got it usually thought that he was a moron. “Is purple your favorite?” he asked as an afterthought, realizing that it was probably good information to have about a girl. Ainsley raised his eyebrows when she suggested that people at the school might be the makers of yellow snow. That... was a form of rebellion, he supposed. It gave him ideas. He wondered if the Crows would even notice the smell of urine on their robes if he put it there. But anyway, he pulled himself back from the land of 'maybe' and into the present time. He felt a little bad making fun of Lauren, but it was true that she studied too much. And maybe he didn't study enough. “Maybe she'd get used to it, though, if we did. We can have an intervention. Get her to come outdoors, have a snowball fight, maybe have some hot chocolate... Damn, bet all that would draw in some unwelcome visitors.” He meant the Carrows, but other students weren't necessarily exempt from such thoughts.
Even though he knew that what she said was just a joke, Ainsley couldn't help but get his imagination going about the Gryffindor girls' dorm. Just Phoenix was pretty amazing... But that meant Ginny, that meant Hermione in years past. And that was... Just good. The whole illusion was ruined and enhanced at once by the inclusion of Hermione, since she was too studious to engage in that sort of behavior. “That probably depends on the boy... Oh wait. You know how I am, so I guess that doesn't really count for me. But you did have fun then, didn't you? Admit it.” He elbowed her, not hard enough to hurt her but just enough to be annoying. “Uhhh... Yeah, I kind of am weirded out. I like window shopping but I've never been with a guy before. Have you actually been with a girl?” he asked. He was kind of teasing, but kind of curious, too. It went from a game to a genuine question and answer session.
Ainsley was bothered by these emotions. He was offended by what she said before, but now he felt bad that she was apologizing. “Ahhh... No, you aren't wrong. I guess I kind of am easy. But in these times, why should someone be anything but? We don't know when we're going to die. Or when the person that we're with is going to die.” Suddenly, he'd turned the conversation much more serious than he'd intended. He leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Apology accepted, though, either way.”
He couldn't help but laugh at her eyebrow wiggling. She was a knock-out, but it was still funny to see that expression on her face. “For research,” he repeated in his best pervert voice. Sadly, he had it almost perfected for all the years that he was an immature brat. Ainsley stuck his tongue out at her. It was something that not many people did in real life, but if he was going to be the main character, then it wasn't so out of place. “I knew that I had some profound effect on your life. I thought it would be more like you running off to women instead of men or something like that. This feels a lot better. Do you want to be my heroine?” He was teasing her, but he hoped that she didn't think that he was making fun of the fact that she did some writing. He thought that it was cool. He was just so used to being immature that he didn't know how to sincerely praise someone.
“I think that they would find some way to obliterate us all at once if we said that. Can't we just put itching powder in their robes or something? Ugh. This would be the perfect time to escape to Hogsmeade. But I think they have the castle pretty well protected against that sort of thing. Maybe... Do you want to look around and see if we can find something fun to do? I know that's a long shot. I mean... It's probably too cold to skinny dip but we could do that. It'll give you a laugh just to see what magic the cold water does to my body.”
