HAIR&EYES Cailey inherited those same deep brown eyes and silky, brown hair of her mother. Cailey’s hair comes a little way below shoulder length, and unlike her mother, she refuses to leave her house before it’s in pristine condition. This is not to suggest she’s self-absorbed, merely careful and somewhat perfectionist. Her eyes sit gleaming above her rosy, dimpled cheeks.

BOGGART Cailey’s a pretty confident girl, and though she might give off the vibe that she doesn’t much care what people think of her, the prospect of being ridiculed socially is very scary for her. She doesn’t handle that kind of embarrassment very well, and would most likely recede away for a while socially. At times like these, she will find solace in her family, and couldn’t really begin to contemplate what she would do without what, in her view, has been a stable and reliable constant in her life thus far.
MIRROR OF ERISED Cailey wants to first be successful above all else. She’s not a horrible, selfish person, but she surely won’t mind treading on toes of people if it’ll help her reach her goal quicker. Cailey is somewhat naïve in the sense that she believes in achieving success, happiness will naturally accompany it. She’s not the greatest academically but works hard, though, as mentioned, is not above taking shortcuts (within reason). At the moment, she’s not really fussed in what she ends up doing as long as she is great.
PATRONUS Cailey’s Patronus is a rhinoceros, symbolic of her tough exterior and resilience. The rhinoceros generally has a weak underbelly, so this would fit well with her insecurities despite the tough exterior she will generally have most of the time. It is also generally not one to back down easily, and Cailey is always willing to fight for what she believes in.

PERSONALITY Cailey is a fairly confident girl, and generally isn’t one for sugar coating things. It has eluded her mother where this confidence came from, with Megan being a rather passive individual in her youth. Given this, Cailey is very similar to her mother in many ways: she enjoys a good swim and cannot stand arrogance and prejudice. However, she is also very different, in that she enjoys many pursuits i.e. Quidditch, shopping, dance that her mother wouldn’t really have cared for as a child. She also doesn’t mind bending the rules slightly for a short-term gain, but isn’t really devious enough to scheme something long-term; she’d think it a waste of time and energy.

Cailey is very social and willing to talk to anyone, but would usually like for them be somewhat responsive. If the person seems dull or boring to her, she’s unlikely to hang around for too long. In this sense, she could be somewhat of a bad influence on those who prefer a quieter life, as she’s the type to encourage people into things like social events through cleverly-worded manipulations. She’s not routinely manipulative, merely a little socially overbearing. Having said that, she’s not above taking shortcuts and treading on important toes to reach a goal more quickly.

She’s hard-working and if she wants something, she generally tirelessly tries to get it; from this, she’s pretty good at wearing other people down through her sheer tenacity and determination. Nonetheless, she can usually differentiate whether something’s worth pursuing or not; if she deems it to be the latter, she’d rather not waste the effort, and put her energies to better use.

Cailey would much rather spend her time playing Quidditch or socialising than studying for too long, though she does appreciate the avenues that can open up from a good academic record, and thus puts in enough effort to keep her grades respectable. She won’t be spoken down to or belittled, and can be a little fiery-tempered and hot-headed at times as a result. Generally though, if she respects you and you respect her, a strong friendship will inevitably develop.

HISTORY Cailey was born to Megan and Nathaniel Douglas in Ayr on the western side of Scotland, their first female child. Naturally, her parents were very protective of her as a child. It is perhaps for this reason that she has developed a somewhat sassy personality. Regardless of this, she knew her place, and always has, and still does, respect her parents. With both of her parents being half-blood, it was always expected she would go to Hogwarts, and therefore she was educated in the ways of the wizarding world from a fairly young age. She received a Hogwarts letter, as expected, and was sorted into Gryffindor upon arrival - a pleasant surprise for her mother, who wasn’t aware of any previous Gryffindors in the family.

Cailey was never one to keep her views to herself, so if there was something she didn’t agree with she’d definitely make it known. Naturally, this generally has caused a fairly even divide in terms of her friends or acquaintances; people either love her for this quality or despise her for it – there’s not really much room in between. This tendency to act before thinking has, inevitably, gotten her into a few tricky situations, but generally she hasn’t caused too much trouble, and has worked on her studies to a respectable standard. Many people will have caught the sharp end of her tongue, but it’ll most likely be warranted – she’s not into being horrible to people or making them feel bad for the sake of it.
