PERSONALITY
Giana's personality is rather layered. She spends a great deal of her time alone, or off by herself. She gives the impression of hiding behind her books, when in reality she merely escapes through them. Though she studies hard, the things she most often reads are novels of the fairytale or adventure varieties through which she can live vicariously in stories which make use of her rather vivid imagination. She is shy to the point of extremely introverted at first glance. She has a tendency to stutter when nervous or when speaking to someone with whom she is unfamiliar.
Underneath the surface, however, is a fiercely protective, familial nature. With regard to her siblings, both older and younger, and a very few select friends, she is extremely loyal, and even outspoken under the right circumstances, when the situation demands she come to the defense of another. Though she is by far the most innocent of the older Valerio children, she has an almost endearing tendency to mother both Luca and Nadya, who, in her opinion, tend to require constant looking after. She cares a great deal about her studies, and considers her education imperative to her future. Though she hasn't chosen a final destination professionally yet, she spends a lot of time dreaming about possibilities, and the kind of life she'd like to achieve some day.

Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right, and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort.

HISTORY
Giana was born third, six minutes behind her twin sister, Nadya. As children, the girls were very similar. However, as they aged, Nadya's innate desire to understand gradually shifted toward people rather than facts. Giana, for her part, possessed a deep-rooted desire to know every fact and figure the universe had to offer. If it existed, could be seen, could be measured, she wanted to know it. She learned to read at an impressively young age, and from then on could almost always be found with a book in her hand. When Nadya took up sketching and the piano, Giana took up painting and the violin. At the start of school, it bothered her somewhat to be separated from her siblings. Still, she enjoyed being the only one to follow in her parents' footsteps, even if it meant not being near to those she loved.
Her natural mistrust of strangers made it difficult for Giana to make friends. She struggled even with those in her own house, especially those of the male variety. She learned by necessity to tolerate being a loner, though she does occasionally still seek out her siblings or one of the few friends she does have. Currently in her fifth year at Hogwarts, she learning to cope with the distance created between she and her sister over the previous summer. Unaware of what happened, but knowing something major occurred, she is doing all she can to try and bridge the gap, and understand why her best friend has suddenly stopped talking almost entirely about anything beyond surface level chatter.

RP EXPERIENCE? And miles to go before I sleep.
RP SAMPLE.
Marcos sat on the lawn on a flat stone, watching the clouds, journal in his pocket of his jacket on the ground. Giana exited the school, headed for the courtyard when she spoted Marcos. Tilting her head, she approaches him, curling up with her legs underneath her next to him before she speaks. "Knut for your thoughts?"
He glanced over as she joined him, and smiles even though his thoughts have been heavy of late. "Hey Giana, how's your day going?" He grimaced slightly. "That much? I think you could get a few stories out of me for less then that." He chuckles.
She shrugged, "same as usual I guess, keeping Nadya and Luca out of too much trouble while I try to keep up with all the reading" she laughs softly. "So tell me a story then" He gives her a look, "Keep up with? You have trouble reading?" He playfully elbowed her lightly, much more at ease with her in the last few weeks- "A story. All right."
He remembered what her sister had said about fairy tales. "There was once this very beautiful princess, though quite properly she had no idea how pretty she really was which just shows she really was royalty. She lived in her father's large manor house where he was living while the castle was being built anew. A dragon" He pointed at a cloud, "they had fought had destroyed their old one. She had a lot of time on her hands, mostly weaving things on a loom."
Her eyes widened, first in amusement and then in genuine interest as she listens. She hadn't actually expected him to tell her a story. She grinned, "Did you just make that up?" She looked vaguely impressed. "That's cool, Marcos." She smiles shyly at him. "You'll have to tell me how it ends sometime." She holds up the book she'd been holding. "Ancient runes assignment...I really love ancient runes."
He grinned, "Maybe...." He noted she didn't seem to want hear more just then. "Really? And sure, Giana, anytime. I can't say how weird it might get though, it will depend on the clouds I think." He winked playfully at her.
She flushed lightly, but managed to smile shyly up at him again. "I'm not sure what I want to do yet, so I'm taking it just in case" she shrugs, "I want to be prepared for anything." She glances up at the sky. "Do you cloud gaze a lot?"
Marcos wondered if she would flush if it was someone else beside him or just any boy as Nadya had said. "Oh I see." He seemed a bit taken aback. "No idea at all? Really? What's your favorite thing besides reading to do?" He chuckled and then patted the book in his jacket pocket. "I was writing actually, but I have to get outside every day for at least a little while. Really, I wish I was allowed to go hiking, but they frown on me in the forest by myself." He sighed wistfully.
"There are things besides reading?" She widened her eyes at him before she grinned. "Kidding, I just haven't narrowed it down yet. There are too many things to like." She tilts her head. "You write? Like stories or like journaling?" She laughedsoftly, "when has that ever stopped you?"
She almost fooled him, but his face turned into a "I-see-what-you -did" smirk. "Ah ha! Little minx." He laughed. "Oh really? What have you narrowed it down too, I'm curious. Maybe it will help me in figuring out my own direction besides traveling." He shrugged, glancing down at the book briefly. "Um, not so much stories though I have written some before. It's kind of silly, but I write my best friend from summer in the book about what all happens to me, but she is muggle so I can never show it to her." He frowned. "seems a bit unfair really. My real letters to her are always so dull." He smiled, mollified. "Well let's say I have some teachers who have been after me about the forest to begin with so it'd have to be better then just wanting to go hiking. I need my outdoors."
She grinned cheekily at him, "am not!" she tried to look offended and failed "I was thinking maybe something in publishing actually" she admits, "but that might change tomorrow." She nodded as she listened. "I'd like to see those, your stories I mean." She tilts her head, smiling softly, "So that's what you're doing? Getting your outdoors?"
