PATRONUS Nadya's patronus is the white Indian peacock, pure white and as flamboyant as their colorful counterparts Nadya's patronus is one of the only remaining obvious indications of who she was before issues during the summer after fourth year changed her perspective. However, both Nadya and her patronus are known for accepting multiple mates and a tendency to enjoy being the center of attention.
PERSONALITY Prior to her fifth year, Nadya held a great deal more in common with her sister Giana, though she was never quite as shy, and always possessed a measurably stronger sense of self. She is intelligent, independent, and driven, loyal only to her family and very few carefully chosen and tested individuals. She is calculating, and even more so at present than in the past. She has few qualms with manipulating others if she sees it as being necessary for her own protection or to meet her own ends. She likes to give the impression of being open and up front, all the while keeping those things which she considers personal thoroughly hidden. She presents a front of apathy and narcissism as a shield for her emotions, which often run high and very intense.
She has few friends, but many acquaintances, she has difficulty getting close to anyone, and relies heavily on physical and often sensual aspects to feel connected to others. With few exceptions, she views people more as assets or resources, and has developed a mentality of 'use or be used' in recent months. On the surface, however, she generally appears laid back and easy going. She enjoys playing mind games, most especially with the opposite sex, but all who cross her are cautioned to beware of her temper, and her older brother, Luca.

HISTORY
Nadya was born second of five children, closely followed a few minutes later by her twin sister, Giana. While both girls were exceptionally intelligent, Nadya had a tendency toward using her knowledge of a situation to achieve her own ends. She is very close to her uncle Ivan, her mother's older brother who is also her godfather. For the majority of her life, Nadya has been an observer, choosing to watch and take opportunities as they come. During her fourth year, she had a brief, fairly innocent relationship with Marco Jimmenez, which ended rather badly due to Nadya's inexperience. During the summer, she set out on a quest to rectify the situation, and it was on this course that she met an older boy named Andrei. On vacation with his family from Bulgaria, Andrei was charming and exciting for a young girl. On the surface, he was everything Nadya needed to forget about Marcos and to ensure nothing like her problems from the year before would ever happen again.
However, Andrei had his own ideas about the state of his and Nadya's relationship and as their brief time together progressed, he continued to pressure her until she gave in. After that night, he disappeared, presumably returning to Bulgaria with his family, leaving Nadya hearbroken and confused. To further complicate matters, Nadya hadn't gotten around to telling her parents she and Marco had ended things, and so they had invited him to their home as a surprise. He arrived during the last month of the summer holiday, and the two developed a rather complex relationship which has few boundaries and even fewer explanations. Due to her experiences with Andrei, and previously also with Marco, Nadya possesses an almost phobic fear of commitment and vulnerability. She has a tendency to keep people at arm's length, and will keep the upper hand as a general rule, whatever the cost.

She sighed, but doesn't interrupt, though she pouted at him when he called her stubborn. Widening her eyes at him in mock innocence, she crossed her arms. The expression melts a moment later and she frowns. Gia had confessed to telling Marco what had happened with Andrei. "Thanks" she murmurs softly, obviously uncomfortable with the subject. "What happened on the train?"
He glanced at her and nodded, getting the message. "She took my hand trying to make me listen to her and I realized her hand was cold which made me glance up at her even though I was all torn up. And you know what? She was blushing. And when she realized I had seen, she blushed all over like furiously red, you might have seen it some that day too. Anyway when I asked her if she was alright she went into super stammer mode before she left really quickly." He didn't move his eyes from hers as he gave her a rueful look. "It got me thinking. And I think she has a crush on me, Nadya. So if you want to cave my head in with an andiron, I'm right here." He looked resigned to her anger too.
She listened, growing progressively more uneasy. Gia had reentered the compartment looking thunderstruck and flushed. Nadya had wondered what had happened then to make her sister react so strongly. Now, she supposed, she knew. Part of her was torn, Marcos was a good guy after all, but they were very similar people, all fire and flash. Still, a crush was nothing to get upset over. "Why would I do that?" She looks confused. "It isn't your fault Gia's got a crush, its not like you're going after her or did something to cause it." She shrugs, "things happen."
He scratched the back of his head as he gave her a really sheepish look. "Well. I told you I did some deep thinking about it, took me a bit. I almost decided to go to her and tell her to knock it off because of you and me, it's just..." He sighed, "I'm pretty sure that is why she doesn't want to tell you, I mean naturally. But I think I might have a bit of one back to her..." He shrank back a bit as though he expected an explosion-
She just looked at him for a second, her eyes going very wide and then narrow. "You...let me get this straight..." Her voice was deathly soft. "You...less than two weeks after asking me out...have decided you have a thing for my sister?!?" Now she's glaring at him. "In what bloody universe am I supposed to be okay with this?" She's on her feet in an instant, glaring down at him.
"Excuse me, do you see me running off to her first off the bat the moment I realize I do think she is cute and innocent? No, I came straight to you first. Please, Nadya, I'm not doing anything, I wanted to tell you and talk to you about it first." He gave her a look of irritation that she had to stand up but did not follow suit. "Who said you were supposed to be? Honestly I was expecting to be backhanded instantly, I did offer to wait while you got an andiron. I'm not trying to pull anything on you, Nadya, I'm right here."
She remained glaring at him, but now she was more annoyed by his logic than anything. Closing her eyes, shutting him out for a minute, she inhaled deeply, then let it out slowly. "Okay, so what exactly were you hoping for out of this conversation?" This wasn't happening, Marcos and Gia? Really? She tried to process what she was feeling. Anger was there, frustration, and maybe even something resembling jealousy. Sitting back down a bit farther away from him she meets his eyes, looking bothered but she isn't quite sure why. "I'm not going to attack you, Marco. I do wonder at how quickly you apparently move on." She doesn't elaborate but the implication is fairly clear.
"Expecting?" He slumped, looking a bit miserable again. "I expected to be attacked, probably hexed, yelled at, and maybe even shunned though that one would hurt me the worst." He looked back at her direction but not up at her face. "What can I say Nadya? I have a ton of feelings for you, but you shut me down like I did you last year. I admit it, I deserved it, entirely. You crushed me entirely." The tears come from the corner of one eye, but he ignores them. "If she hadn't of stayed behind..., well I probably wouldn't have gotten off the train till it returned to London. Maybe not even then."
He looked at the floor, took a deep breath, and let it out. "And who says I've moved on? I just said I admitted I think I might have something back for her, how can you not want to protect someone as sweet and innocent and nice as that? I don't know if anything would or will develop", Here, his eyes came up to hers though he hadn't realized the tear yet either. "but I damn well wasn't going to do anything till I spoke to you. On some
level I will always love you, Nadya, how can I not? You have my soul under your heel anytime you want to crush me easy enough. If it bothers you that much forbid me to go anywhere near her and go tell her whatever. But I wasn't going to go behind your back either. Of course it's a nasty looking situation to anyone, but is it my fault it exists? No. I can't help realizing there is a part of me who finds her precious, much like I have always cared about a girl who used to love me..." He closed his eyes and wiped his face.
She just stopped, mouth closing suddenly, and as she listened, her eyes closed, and she seemed to cave in on herself as her temper gave way. "Not quite to the extent you did last year" she corrected him. She hadn't slammed the door in his face, just changed the rules. The tears tugged at her in a way reminiscent of the year before, and she tried to steel herself. "There is a big difference" she murmured softly, "between wanting to protect someone and wanting to snog them" she pointed out softly. But then, was there really? She wanted to snog Marcos senseless most of the time, and in this moment she also felt oddly protective. She had hurt him, she knew that now, and it gave her no satisfaction whatsoever. "You really like her?" The question, softly spoken, sends a foreign pang of jealousy shooting through her chest. "I...love you too, Marcos, not in the way you wanted, but I do." He was special, different, and probably always would be, living proof that there had been something before all this
mess.
She met his eyes, and before she could think better of it, she leaned forward and brushed her lips over his, trying to comfort him. "I'll always love you Marcos" she murmured, inches away. "I just can't be the girl you want." But, Giana could. Because the thought hurt, she didn't voice it. Giana could be the kind of girl he needed. The ache that came was swift and strong, but she swallowed hard. The tears came then, first one and then another. One at a time, they found their way to the corners of her eyes and down her cheeks. In that moment, she wants nothing more than to bind the hands of time and go back, but she could't, and she knew it. So instead, she wraps her arms around his neck and crawls into his lap, silent and clinging to him as the tears continue to fall.
Marcos listens, unable to meet her eyes again till she spoke about his liking Giana. "You...made me see her when we were dating and we talked about her sometimes, seeing her blush I guess woke up something in me." He held up his hand. "I'm not going to do anything fast, but I should see if there is anything there between us to be fair to her especially." His eyes closed again at the kiss, his hands went automatically to hold her close when she crawled into his lap. He kissed her tears away as he whispered: "I get that...now, though it took me a bit. I think we'll always love each other as we used to be, but we've both changed since then, Nadya, we're both the same and different now." He held her to him. "I care about you deeply. I always will have a piece of you in my heart..."
She inhaled, slowly and deeply as her eyes closed. She was relieved when his arms wound around her and the closeness of him felt so natural that it almost ached. For several seconds, she didn't move or say anything, merely took him in. She buried her head in his chest, mumbling something incoherent. After another minute, she pulled back only slightly. "Got a time turner handy somewhere?"
He liked the feel and smell of her close and he let out a puff of laughter quickly finished at her comment. "Merlin, wouldn't that be handy. Nope, but I promise I'm taking things a lot slower from here on out. I learned my lesson." He kissed the side of her head.
His lips against her skin sent a tingling sensation through her just as they did the first time. She wondered if there would ever come a time she didn't feel a spark between them. As she turned and looked into his eyes, she doubted it. "Glad to be of service" she murmured, a bittersweet smile playing oddly on her lips. She leaned up, taking his face in her hands she brushed her lips over his again, lingering this time. "I love you, Marcos, you know that right?"
He breathed her in and out as she spoke, and smiled sorrowfully at her. "Sorry love, neither of us planned this out." Then, softer: "I know, darling, I feel your words pulse in my chest whenever you look at me. He kisses her again.
She shook her head, her smile turning rueful as she lowered her hands. "We never were particularly good planners were we?" She seemed to give in after a moment, wrapping her arms around his neck, she kissed him slowly, tenderly, as though trying to memorize the feel of his lips on hers. Gone is the fire that tends to characterize her now, instead there is a smoldering intensity in the way she's moving her lips against his, pressing herself to him as though she can't quite get close enough to satisfy.
"It's because I can never think straight when you get this close to me...." he murmurs. He feels her lips with a new kind of emotion, feeling and knowing this was the last time he savored ever moment, exploring her mouth as his fingers slide up into her hair across her face, trying to memorize the touch of her skin under his fingers. She laughed softly for a beat. "I think not thinking straight has always been our problem" she tries to grin, but the expression melts quickly. This slow, tender exploration is foreign to her, overwhelming and all-encompassing. She leans down to brush her lips over his throat. "Can we pretend its just us? Just for a while?" She gave him an almost vulnerable look. "Just you and me?"
Marcos sees the look in her eyes and nods, his eyes turning a bit more maudlin- "Yes, Nadya, I think we should. I don't want to let you go right now anyway." He turned his fingertips so his nails could be felt on her scalp as he pulled his hands through her hair slowly, watching her reaction.
Her eyes drifted closed as he runs his fingers through her hair and she shivered, surrendering to him, to the feelings, just this once. "Then don't...please...just don't let me go." She bites her lip and then leans forward again, kissing him harder than before, with more intensity.
He managed to get as far as- "I won't--" before he's overwhelmed with her kisses as he continues his slow hands across her head and neck, returning her kiss equally, but not rushing things. When he does break the kiss to move down her throat he undoes her buttons to slide his hands over her shoulders, gripping her shoulders as he works her muscles and then across her back as he kisses the base of her throat. She runs her fingertips down over his shoulder blades and across his back, grazing her nails lightly over the fabric of his shirt. When she reaches the hem, she grasps it lightly, her palms finding the skin of his stomach as she met his eyes, asking for permission.
---Time Lapse Because Proboards isn't Ready for the Sexiness---
The sound of her name on his lips pulses through her, and the warmth radiates. Releasing his arms, she wraps her arms around his neck, tugging gently, inviting moreso than actually drawing him down. "Come here, love", she murmurs.
He doesn't/can't resist, lays down on her, clearly exhausted even as he is fully sated and delighted. He kissed her with the taste of her skin still on his lips, and then laid his head on her shoulder.
She kissed him back. For a few moments, they merely laid there together. She stroked his hair, running her fingers through it and enjoying the closeness. A bit later, however, the weight starts to become too much, and she shifts under him. "Um, love, I...breathing...would be good" she murmurs softly. He loved the feel of her possessiveness in his hair, and he managed to stir slightly as she spoke, saying: "Oh. Sorry" He leaned to one side his arm taking the weight off her chest as he pushes in just a bit, clearly worn out. "That was....the single most amazing....thing ever. Glorious..." He ran a hand across the side of her face with affectionately. She pressed herself against him to give herself leverage, then rolled so that she was laying on top of him and grinned down into his eyes. "I agree" she murmured, smiling tenderly down at him. She laid her head on his chest, and traced circles over one shoulder.
Marcos didn't really resist much. His hand slid down to her hip as she laid there drawing on him. "Man, I may need to sleep for a few days... You okay? I didn't hurt you any did I?" He asked, genuinely concerned.
Nadya: She smiled, "hurt? no..." She sighed softly, "it was wonderful, Marco, really wonderful." For just as moment she sounded like her old self.
He smiled, relieved and happy. "Ah good! I wasn't really in much control there at the end. But I feel really really amazing right now." She laughed softly, "me too, but we are in the clock tower" he reminded him softly, almost sadly. "I doubt they're going to appreciate finding us when the prefects come to do rounds in a few minutes."
He glanced toward the steps lazily. "Ah man, you would think of that. I would try to sneak you into my dorm, but I don't think we can get through the common room without being noticed. I guess we'd better stir" In spite of his words, he made no effort to move.
For a few more minutes, she didn't move either, but then, grudgingly slow, she raised up, then second guessed and dipped her head, brushing her lips over his. After another few seconds she rolled off of him. "Come on, Marc, wouldn't want to get expelled the first week of classes, what kind of example would we be then?" The irony in her tone and her expression as she winks at him over her shoulder are palpable. He sat up grinning. "An amazing one! Just....not for the exact reasons I suspect our parents would appreciate." He laughed, grabbed his jeans and began dressing without getting up.
She slid back into her clothes slowly, taking her time in delaying the inevitable. She knew that after they left this room, everything changed. Still, she offered him a cheeky sort of smile. "My thoughts exactly" she agreed laughing. She tossed him his shirt from where she'd discarded it several minutes prior. He struggled into his shirt watching all the favorite parts of Nadya disappear and grinning cheekily when she looked at him "Something tells me I'm not sleeping for awhile tonight even though I need to." He grimaced at the thought. He'd rather take her to a bed somewhere for later gymnastics even though he knew he could't. She's buttoned up her blouse, and turned to face him as she looked up and grinned. "I would tell you to take some dreamless sleep, but I think you'll enjoy the dreams you have tonight." She smirked at him, "I know I will."
He laughed, and crawled over to the bench in order to use it to get himself leaning against the wall. His expression carries a touch of exasperation. "Oh man, those will keep me awake to do something about them actually. He laughed, "you do realize my brothers are going to know I've been with someone just by the scent? She noded, shrugging, "tell them whatever you like, but if Madden gives me hell tomorrow I'm going to reconsider that hexing we discussed earlier." She narrowed her eyes at him in a threatening look. "Besides, Madden could always use being taken down a notch or two." She smirked.
He made a motion for zipped lips. "Oh no, I'm not telling! But they will probably guess at you because of...recent events.
" She shrugged, "let them guess" she strove to sound blase, knowing she'd have to leave soon and dreading the moment. She slid on her sandals, ran her fingers through her hair, and took a few steps toward him. "Come on, love, we've got maybe ten minutes before one of the Ravenclaw prefects comes poking around.
"
He stepped away from the wall and slid an arm around her middle some of the cheer leaking away. "No, Nadya, once we go out, we're going different directions. One more thing, very important." He placed a hand over her heart and with every serious meaning slid his other to her cheek holding her there. "I'm in you, you are in me, forever, love. No matter what happens, no matter who may come along, I will always feel this heartbeat in my chest, Nadya. Do not ever fail to believe that. I love you, forever.
" She tensed, half of her had been hoping they'd make it out the door without this, the acknowledgement of what they both knew came next. Still, she didn't fight him, going into his arms willingly and without compunction one more time. "Yes love?" His touch was warm, and she leaned into it almost reflexively, meeting his eyes. "No matter what" she murmured in agreement, nodding softly. She laid a hand over his chest and then moved so that it was laying over his on her chest. "Never" she promised softly, "I love you too, Marcos, always." The sound of footsteps makes her jump, and she gave him an apologetic look, brushing her lips over his in one final goodbye, she bolted from the room and was gone.
Note: If this reads a little funny its because it was reformatted from an ICC Shava and I did a while ago. He gets any and all credit for all Marcos actions and reactions.
