PERSONALITY
The best word to describe Gaspard would be sadistic. He’s the perfect mixture of violent, manipulative, and abusive, using his lack of a functioning conscience to his advantage. He uses charisma and practiced charm to draw people to him, and then, uses their sympathy and attempts to identify with who he really is to break them.

Anger becomes him, considering he is quick to it. That is not to say Gaspard gets angry often. Rather, at the slightest feeling of discontent, he becomes outwardly irritable, unable to push aside his building disgust. Selfish as he is, Gaspard derives pleasure from the discomfort of others, feeding off of the fearful hostility he draws out of his prey.

HISTORY
Son of a prominent, old-fashioned pureblood family, it is no surprise that Gaspard was raised with supremacist ideals, from a very young age. His mother and father, who shared no attraction, and no commonalities, save their loyalty to the Dark Lord, treated him more like a student than a son. Without affection and time occupied with family, Gaspard was often left alone, to his own devices, already developing a superiority complex of sorts by the age of four.

Before his 5th birthday however, his life changed quite a bit. News of his father’s infidelity was spread in whispers throughout the household, and it was revealed that Gaspard had a younger, “tainted” sister. The loss of trust that followed was minor, though the blow was made harsh by the sudden disappearance of his parents from his life.

The two had died following a raid by aurors upon a known Death Eater hideout, leaving the boy a penniless orphan. He was taken in by his half-sister’s family, out of his father’s unwitting mistress’s kindness. All was well for a few years, but people would talk, as was their wont, and kindness was soon misunderstood as pity. As such, he spent the next six years making the life of his sister a living hell.

At the age of ten, Gaspard was taken off the family’s hands by a pureblood couple, who hoped to raise and groom him in their desired image. One year later, the boy was sent to Durmstang, spending the entirety of the next 10 years in Bulgaria, never returning to visit, until his learning was over.

When he turned twenty, Gaspard returned to France, re-emerging in Pureblood society as a model child, perfect, wanted, and seemingly loved by all. Love, however, had been mistaken with fear. All around him knew what volatility he was capable of, and allowed and enabled him to do as he liked, for fear of retributive action.

From a young age, it was clear the boy was not right in the head, and as a result of his new freedom, he’s spiraled further in to madness, taking the few people who truly do love him along with him.
