Three glasses of fire whiskey had Bellatrix Lestrange grinning, the twisted grimace pulling up the corners of her mouth in a way that scared many a passerby. The witch was having a drink in Knockturn, aware of the tension she had created in the atmosphere. Bellatrix liked it that way; she liked being feared, liked how her presence set everyone’s teeth on edge – even if they were fellow Death Eaters.
Cowards. All of them were cowards, never realizing how in depth her dedication to their Lord was. No, they were all delusional in thinking they could scrape by with the bare minimum. There was nothing more insulting, nothing more revolting than a coward.
And Bellatrix Lestrange was certainly not a coward.
Another drink later, and the Death Eater was starting to think she had forgotten something. Something she was supposed to –
“Dammit! Cissy.”
On her feet in only half a second, the witch left her money and disapparated, the cloud of black smoke nothing new to the usual occupants of the pub. She knew she was late – and Cissy was always such a bloody pain about being on time. Not even a minute later and Bellatrix was already in the Malfoy Manor, searching out her beloved little sister. “Cissy! Narcissa!” Her voice echoed through the empty house, making her grimace. Well, it was quite rude of her not to be somewhere within the house. That left her to wonder about whether or not she was roaming the gardens again.
Idiotic really. She could be doing so much more to help their cause, and yet she wasted her time tending plants. Scowling, Bella stepped forward, wandering the pathway to the gardens before spotting the blonde ahead.
“Cissy!” Her tone laced with impatience and annoyance, she stepped forward and grabbed hold of the younger sister, embracing her only briefly before pulling back.
“What in the bloody hell are you doing wasting your time in these gardens? You should be doing more to serve our Lord.”
Only after a few moments did Bella’s face relax; her jaw unclenched, and her eyes softened. “How have you been, Cissy?”
