HAIR&EYES Severus Snape's eyes are said to be black, and as deep as a long, endless tunnel. His eyes have the ability to pierce into another's, though not always in a good way. Snape's hair is dark black, and cascades to his shoulders in greasy curtain-like waves.
HEIGHT&WEIGHT Though the book never specifies, 6'' is a common assumption, and he is only ever described as "thin."

BOGGART Harry's death. In all honesty..the death of Harry would be the death of everything Severus had spent seventeen years working for. It would also be the death of the last real, significant piece of Lily Evans. I don't think Severus could deal with it.
MIRROR OF ERISED This is easy. Severus desires Lily -- I'm quite certain that, if he could, he would go back in time and change his past actions, in order to stop himself from accidentally causing Voldemort to look for her. He would have made different life choices, all in an effort to win the heart of his forever beloved.
PATRONUS Simple. A doe -- because of his unconditional love for Lily.
PERSONALITY Severus Snape is a man capable of many different personas. Although perceived by many as cold, calculating, and slightly emotionless, his love for Lily Evan's gave an insightful look into a personality more complex than most. Snape is a man that enjoys his privacy -- he likes his privacy, while still longing for some form of affection from the one woman he can't have. He is, for lack of a better word, a walking oxymoron. Severus often spends his time reading, making potions, creating spells, or pretending to be in the service of the Dark Lord.

Snape is the kind of man who can be hurt easily -- though he'll never show it. He keeps to himself, but has an heir of authority about him, demanding respect from any student or adult he comes into contact with. When he was younger, he was more vulnerable and insecure; he wanted to do anything he could to stand out, or to be special. Though he may have gone about this the wrong way, it helped him turn into the adult he is now - one of the "bravest men" ever known. He is a loyal servant, a courageous hero, and an unconditional holder of love.

HISTORY To write a full description of Snape's history would honestly take all day. I will then, stick to some of the main points that help define who Snape is as a person. Severus Snape was not a lucky person growing up; in fact, his home life was not necessarily the best, and he therefore turned to a beautiful girl as a distraction. This girl would soon come to be known as Lily Evans - a person of whom Snape would develop an extreme, obsessive love for that he would carry with him all throughout the rest of his life. All through childhood the two grew up together, until they were sorted into separate houses at Hogwarts.

Needless to say, the two made different friends - and both hated the other's close circle. While Snape went off making friends with soon-to-be Death Eaters, Lily made friends with the Marauders late in her Hogwarts schooling. This happened only after Snape made a vital mistake - by calling his true love a Mudblood out of embarrassment and hurt suffered at the hands of James Potter and Sirius Black.

Severus then went on to be inducted into the Death Eaters, and told his master of a Prophecy he'd heard about concerning him. Unbeknownst to him, this would cause the death of Lily Evans and James Potter - along with their son. Though he pleaded with the Dark Lord to spare her, Lily ended up dying because of her defense of Harry. This is when Snape's allegiance shifted; he earned the trust of Albus Dumbledore, and has spent the rest of his life putting himself in danger in order to protect the one piece of Lily Evans left on this earth - Harry Potter.

She was still so beautiful, even in the context of his mind.

Dancing, swaying, still laughing in the sunlight before collapsing onto the grass and looking at him.

“Severus,”

She’d whispered it so kindly that he’d never forgotten. Severus, she’d said. Not Snivelly, not Snivellus, not Snape. Severus.

“Why don’t you play with the other children?”

This part of the memory always hurt; always broke him down to the point where he was over-boiling potions for the classes. How could he have known then, that he was going to make friends with the wrong sort? That he was going to be the reason this beautiful, radiant girl perished on the other side of the Dark Lord’s wand?

“I don’t think they like me,”

He’d answered coolly, but his voice had been shaky and uncertain. He was only a boy at the time, trying to understand why the other students laughed at him; why they made fun of his hair and his nose, and even of his love for reading. They had never liked him – especially the popular Gryffindor group that was always parading around, acting like they were better than the rest of them. Potter and Black were the worst of his tormentors – but he could never bring it up to her, could never let her know how sad he was when he saw her with the others and he was left alone.

“But at least we’re best friends,”

He’d continued,

“Right?”

She’d given him the brightest smile he’d ever seen – so bright he swore to this day it had always hurt his eyes. She was his personal sunshine, the only light he had when returning home for the holidays. The only light he had ever, in the history of his existence. Because now he was forever surrounded with the impending darkness; surrounded by lies and suspicion, forced to protect the very child who proved he’d made the biggest mistake of any man’s life. “Lily,” he whispered, tears forming in the eyes of the older man, slowly making their way to the bridge of his nose.

“Best friends! Always!”

“I’m sorry,” Severus whispered into the dark of his dungeon, into the emptiness that had consumed him. “Always.”
