I’d like to avoid sounding too pessimistic, but the pretty blunt truth of it is that most of the things that go bump in the night want to kill you, eat you, control you, or plant their eggs in your groin and let your body heat take care of them until the hatchlings burst out in a bloody mess and eat your corpse for nourishment. Not a very pretty thought, I know. But cheer up, at least you've lasted your first five minutes in Ethro City. That's more than some can say. You're off to a good start.

You seem a bit shocked. Well, I was too at first. But, you get used to it after a while. Especially if you have lived here all your life. You begin to notice when things just aren't right. In fact, you sort of begin to make a business out of it. Some make deals with the monsters and others, like myself, try to take them down. Yeah, that's right, I’m a Watcher, one of many across the globe and I’ve been keeping watch over my city to make sure I don’t wake up to find gnomes running everything. I haven’t seen it all, but I’ve seen enough.

Well, I have to get going. There's a siren downtown that needs to be dealt with. And I can't stall any longer. Watch your step, pal. Maybe we'll cross paths in the future. But then again, maybe not. It really depends on how well you can take my advice; Watch your step and keep out of trouble and above all, DON'T go out alone after dark. Unless you're with a Witch. Then have a blast, because you know he will.
