It was cold. Phoenix normally lived somewhere that was warm, constantly hot. Being born in Florida, and then moving to Texas, winters were normally mild and snow something foreign. Staying at Hogwarts, though changed that. Snow was a normal occurrence during winter time at school. Normally it was something Phoenix looked forward to. Even though she would be shivering and hugging herself. But there was a calmness to the snow. Almost like the air was still and you could hear everything that was going on.
She walked over to a tree, and sat down under it. The sky was white, like the floor and the little flakes that were dropping down from it, so she knew that she stuck out like a sore thumb. Her dark jacket and hair against the bright outdoors, but Phoenix didn't really care. She liked to write outside, liked how it was just so easy to let her thought flow when it was silent.
Most people needed music, or something to give them muse to jot down little ideas here or there, but Phoenix liked the quiet. It was like, she could hear what her brain was thinking when everything around her was silent. And it was a nice feeling. She pulled out her journal and began to write a little. It was nothing serious, a few ideas for some characters, one that sort of resembled Lauren actually. Phoenix laughed to herself and wondered if she should write a short story about a girl caught between two boys, and then let Lauren read it. Though, Phoenix wasn't sure if that would be funny or cruel, so quickly decided against it.
She wondered how Lauren was dealing with that whole..thing. It was one of the reason why Phoenix never got close to any one guy in particular. There was always another around begging to peak your interest. Was it fair to tie yourself to only one, when you knew that you would find another interesting next week?No it wasn't really fair to anyone honestly. Humans were never meant to monogamous, well at least that was what Phoenix thought.
She tapped her finger on the edge of her journal, letting the tip slowly brush across the edges of the papers. She liked that sound. Sighing rather loudly, she closed her book, and held it close to her chest. Hugging the journal almost as if it would give off some warmth to her.
"There has got to be a friggen spell that just makes it warm." Phoenix said aloud, obviously annoyed with the cold.
