HAIR&EYES

Aoi is a mix of Indian, Filipino, Japanese and English. Although her hair is naturally a deep raven black, she enjoys dying it various colors depending on her mood. Lately she's settled on dying it burgundy red to contrast her bright eyes. When one looks closely into her light eyes, they will notice they aren't entirely blue; her pupils are crowned in a brown star-like structure, and her eyes are circled in a navy blue ring.

PERSONALITY
Aoi is a hot-head with extreme empathy and sensitivity to those around her. Even though she hides her attachment to others, it doesn't mean that she doesn't care about them. On the contrary, you may not know Aoi considers you a friend until the day she sucker-punches a guy in the face for you. She is often very cynical and distrusting of others until she gets to know them. She is the ultimate optimistic pessimist.

Her motto is to punch first and ask questions later, which has gotten her in a lot of trouble at the orphanage. Despite her sharp-tongue and cynicism, she has a warm heart and desires to take care of and protect other people. She is ambitious, but would never hurt someone else in order to rise up in the world. Above that, she is stubborn and never gives up on anything.

HISTORY

Aoi knows nothing about her history nor her lineage, other than the fact that she was dropped off at the home of Hitomi Hayashi, an elderly Japanese woman who was supposedly a family friend of her parents. Aunt Hayashi told her that her parents were members of the Order of the Phoenix, and left her behind with her in order to fight in the Second Wizarding War. Her mother's name was Elaxi, meaning "bright eyes" in Sanskrit; Aunt Hayashi told her all about her beautiful and courageous mother, whom she inherited her infamous blue and hazel eyes from. Her father's name was Akira, meaning "brightness" in Japanese. He was supposedly a national duelist and studied at Mahoutokoro before moving to england where he met her mixed mother. She was only six months old when she was dropped off at Aunty's home, and though she tried to care for Aoi for a year, Aunty was at the age of 86 and a single widower with no income but her retirement.

Left unable to care for Aoi, Aunt Hayashi gave Aoi up to an orphanage to take care of her, where she waited to be adopted. She grew up resenting the world; but more than anything she hated the Death Eaters who took her parents away from her. She grew up a loner, keeping mostly to herself and infamous for her temper. However, around the age of five years old she witnessed a couple of boys bullying another girl in the yard, to which she came over and beat the shit out of them in order to save the other girl. The girl became more than a friend to Aoi--she became a sister to her, and they soon formed a family of their own without the orphanage, constantly looking out for one another and taking care of each other.

In her teen years, she found a group of capoeira fighters: people who mix dancing and martial arts. She started to learn from them, and later on found a dojo. It was there that she started taking an interest in all forms of martial arts, including boxing and MMA fighting.
