MIRROR OF ERISED Adrastus does not have one set goal. In fact, much of his decisions are made on the spot. At the moment he is leaning toward getting the Death Eaters back into power.
PATRONUS Can't produce a patronus. It would probably be a snake, though; that may be a stereotype especially with Slytherins and past Slytherins, but it is true. He is sly and deceptive, and sneaky. He is also quick to the kill when he feels threatened.
PERSONALITY Evil would not be far from the mark when it comes to Adrastus. Although he does have a few good traits the majority of what makes his character could never be confused for pleasant. He enjoys inflicting pain on others, both emotional and physical. Not only does it offer a release of a sort, but ever since before he even went to Hogwarts such behavior was awarded with attention and even praise. His happiest memories, for instance, aren't what people would consider happy at all since they involve torturing others and no significant joy outside of it on his part.There is no one close enough to him that he would not sacrifice them if the situation called for it. The Death Eaters, which he would have considered family, are counted among these.

While Adrastus is ruled more by instinct and personal interest he is not really a coward and he is in fact more intelligent than people give him credit for. He creates powerful bonds with others, or at the very least the illusion of it, so that he may take advantage of it later. It doesn't hurt that it means getting their attention in the short term. He is far from materialistic. He has never been the sort of person to spend a lot of money on himself and he wouldn't give a damn if he was penniless. Life's greatest pleasures are free, as it's said.

He has been in a few romantic relationships but once things get serious he is uncomfortable and finds a way out of it. Expressing emotions of the positive variety has never been and probably never will be easy for him. In fact, when he cares about something or someone, he tends to throw himself into more violent activity rather than indulge in an ordinary form of happiness. He doesn't really have trouble with the physical affection though. Actually, in friends, lovers, and all else, he is a pretty physical person.

He has developed a strong paranoia about people following him, though this is probably because he is still trying to adjust to not being a part of the Death Eaters since Voldemort's defeat.

HISTORY The Waldgrave family had for generations served the Dark Arts in one way or another. Adrastus's grandfather Thereus used Alchemy for questionable ends, and even did some experiments on the dead. It was no surprise that Thereus's son Alcimus was drawn to the Dark Arts and became a Death Eater straight out of school. Keeping to the old ways Alcimus married a cousin from a few branches over named Triamour. She was not necessarily so 'evil' herself but she had been attracted to the image Alcimus had in his youth, and didn't do anything to stop the way that he raised his son to be like him.

In school Adrastus really just seemed like a bully. He and his friends would taunt and pick on other kids, often those that were weaker or younger than they were. Much of that was attributed to the fact that his friends were bigger cowards than he was. He didn't think that it was a challenge and was often bored by it. He did well in school because he knew that he could use that to his advantage in the future. He could use the grades and he could certainly use the spells, so he didn't even care when his moronic friends would mock him for all his hard work. He was going somewhere with it. He had the unique ability to not only focus hard on what he was doing at that moment, but to take it in and use what he learned in creative ways later on in time.

When he left school, Adrastus joined up with the Death Eaters himself. He was young, but he was 'talented'. Since he wasn't within Hogwarts walls anymore he could practice darker spells. He became very good at non-verbal spells and eventually he was able to use Imperio to get things from people. He did do tasks for the Death Eaters but he had his own pursuits as well. He liked to collect dark objects with varying effects attached to them. He sometimes sold them, but most of the time he kept them, and has them around his residence even now. In any case, he grew to trust the Death Eaters in a way that he'd never trusted other people. They were people that he was forced to share the risks of life and death with, and they didn't let him down. Adrastus grew close with some of them... At least as close as he could get to another person.

The battle of Hogwarts changed him a little bit. Mostly because his side lost. He was able to somehow convince people that he was forced into the fight by his father who had been known to be a Death Eater for a long time, so his part in the war was mostly forgotten after a time. His father had been one of the casualties and the family home passed to him. He had no trouble outing some of his fellows when the tide turned, ones that he knew would have turned him in if their places were reversed.

Unlike many survivors of the war, Adrastus simply couldn't move on. He felt as though there was really nothing for him in life that could equal the thrill of war, the exhilaration of taking another life, and the rush of fighting to keep his own. As a poor replacement he eventually got the job of Curse Breaker, something that he had been working toward for quite some time. It was a good job for him because he was intelligent, he was quick, and it provided him with a sense of danger. For a while it seemed that he was recovering and finally finding a new way of life. However, he began to get paranoid thoughts about people from the Order stalking him. He didn't know why, but it was something that made him paranoid enough that his house is now booby trapped with dark objects, those that are not fatal but would certainly harm someone who was ill-prepared. The super dangerous things he kept hidden away.

The Death Eaters keep calling to him, though... He wants to bring back that way of thinking, that way of life. He knows that there are still those out there that believe in the same things that he does. He has even thought about recruiting a new generation if his old allies won't join him.
